How to play at 30
Lightning Bolt is the current filler; keep Earth Shock for the assigned interrupt.
30 · Lightning and totem single target
A safe cast lane, a useful fire totem, and Mana for healing.
- 1

Place then cast
Set Searing Totem only when the fight will stay in its range, open Lightning Bolt at distance, then keep casting while the enemy remains safely outside melee. Flame Shock is useful when its ticks can finish.

Talents Forever · shaman client exporttalents tree/name/rank and spell_desc class|spell|rank; local content/talents.json and content/spells.json, build 1.60.1.70291 - 2

Keep the shared Shock for the event
Earth Shock interrupts a cast; Flame Shock and Frost Shock share its Shock cooldown. If a dangerous cast is due, do not spend the cooldown on a casual dot or slow.

Create room and refill
Earthbind Totem helps retreat; selected Earthbound can root on placement. Heal with Healing Wave or Lesser Healing Wave when the gap permits, and recall old totems before a new travel route.

30 · Ranged damage and utility
Tank holds threat; totem utility and interrupt assignments are clear.
- 1

Use actual current casts
Use Lightning Bolt on the kill target and Flame Shock when it has time to tick. Chain Lightning starts at 32 and Lava Burst is a 31-point talent from 40; neither belongs in this current sequence.

Reserve interrupt and purge resources
Keep Earth Shock for the assigned cast, Purge for a removable enemy buff and Tremor Totem for a relevant fear effect. Utility consumes Mana or a totem slot; do not empty the bar on damage first.

Move only useful totems
Totemic Projection at 22 repositions your set but costs substantial base Mana. Use it when keeping an important buff or control is worth that cost; after combat Totemic Recall removes leftover pull risks.

30 · Fire Totem and Nova
Tank holds a small pack at the fire totem; no controlled target in its area.
- 1

Place the Nova anchor
Fire Nova erupts at your active Fire Totem. Put Searing or Magma Totem where the pack will stay, then Nova only while the tank has threat and enough targets justify the Mana.

Do not chase a moving pack with spending
If enemies leave the totem, reposition deliberately or return to Lightning Bolt focus. Projection and another Nova are two resource decisions; neither is free.

Your route from 10 to 60
Pick the route for your activity, then the level you need. Start at 30 for the last verified Beta stage. Later levels remain a separate plan.
Solo caster control and Mana
Current 10–30: Lightning Bolt pulls and Earthbind recovery, with Earthbound at 30. Future 31–60: Lava Burst, then Restoration regeneration and shield/totem support.
When to use this route and what you give up
- Use it when
- Use this when ranged casts and a planned escape matter more than melee swings. Keep Earth Shock available for an assigned interrupt. Chain Lightning starts at 32 and Lava Burst at 40 in this route. Totem Call-name conflicts remain unresolved; use the verified level-20 Call of the Elements. The order is editorial.
- Trade-off
- Earthbound at 30 displaces the first Lightning Overload rank. The final 31 Elemental / 20 Restoration split sacrifices Elemental Reach and Improved Fire Nova for regeneration and recovery. Water Shield and Mana Tide are future purchases at 51 and 56, not current level-30 tools.
- Change direction when
- Choose Enhancement for weapon-led solo quests, or Restoration for regular party healing. If safely tanked dungeon damage is the main role, compare earlier Lightning Overload and a range-focused secondary allocation.

Stat priorities at 30
Upgrade priorities for level-30 play, not simulated stat weights. First keep enough health and resources for your role; compare upgrades of similar level. Hit and critical chance depend on the target and your allocated talents; no universal cap is assumed.
- Spell power
- Intellect
- Critical chance
- Stamina
Spell power needs enough Mana to sustain the pull. Elemental Focus is a proc, not a guaranteed free cast; reserve resources for interrupts and avoid assuming old spell coefficients.
