How to play at 30

Strike, then choose the Nature spender without losing your interrupt or healing budget.

30 · Melee and Shock budget

Weapon imbue applied; Stormstrike selected at sixteen points.

  1. 1

    Imbue and engage one enemy

Choose an available weapon imbue for the task, keep Lightning Shield if useful, then use auto-attacks and talented Stormstrike in reach. Windfury Weapon is learned at 30; it is distinct from the later Windfury Totem.

  2. 2

    Spend the Nature bonus once

Stormstrike enhances your next listed Nature spell. Earth Shock is a direct option when no imminent interrupt requires its cooldown; a Lightning Bolt needs a cast window. Do not assume a baseline instant Bolt.

  3. 3

Heal before the risky final cast

Keep Mana for Lesser Healing Wave or Healing Wave. Frost Shock and Earthbind can create an exit, but the Shock cooldown still competes with Earth Shock’s interrupt.

30 · Melee utility and threat

Ordinary damage role; Rockbiter tanking is not assumed.

  1. 1

    Choose the threat mode

With Spirit Weapons selected, Rockbiter changes the talent’s threat behavior toward tanking. For ordinary damage choose your imbue deliberately and attack from a safe non-frontal position.

  2. 2

Keep Shock for the assigned cast

Use Stormstrike during a safe melee window, then spend its Nature benefit only when Earth Shock’s cooldown is free of the interrupt deadline. Flame or Frost Shock shares that deadline too.

  3. 3

Totems and purge are real duties

Provide assigned Strength of Earth or other useful totems, Purge the assigned enemy buff and Tremor for fear. Recall or reposition totems as the group moves without assuming every travel spell is free.

30 · Totem area plus melee

A tanked pack and a safely placed Fire Totem.

  1. 1

    Place before Nova

Set Magma or Searing Totem where the pack will stay, then use Fire Nova if Mana permits. Keep melee on the priority target rather than turning the area spell into a reason to pull more enemies.

  2. 2

No current chain or Maelstrom shortcut

At 30 Chain Lightning is still two levels away, while Maelstrom Weapon is row six. Do not interrupt the melee task for a supposed instant chain that you cannot cast.

    Stop area spending to rescue

Earthbind helps reposition a loose pack; Lesser Healing Wave can save an ally if assigned. Preserve Earth Shock for the dangerous caster and reduce pulls when healing or Mana is strained.

Choose for the job in front of you

LEVEL BY LEVEL · ORDINARY POINT BUDGET

Your route from 10 to 60

Pick the route for your activity, then the level you need. Start at 30 for the last verified Beta stage. Later levels remain a separate plan.

Weapon questing and mobile recovery

Current 10–30: weapon attacks, affordable Shocks and Stormstrike, with instant Ghost Wolf for travel or retreat. Future 31–60: Maelstrom and personal burst, then Elemental attack support.

When to use this route and what you give up
Use it when
Choose this for ordinary solo melee pulls with a learned weapon skill and regular self-healing pauses. In a party damage role, Spirit Weapons requires checking the imbue: Rockbiter increases threat. The order is editorial.
Trade-off
Early travel utility takes the two points that could instead start Lightning Shield damage. The final 39 Enhancement / 12 Elemental build has dodge support but no Toughness or healing-tree Mana regeneration. Rage of the Farseer is personal, not party Bloodlust.
Change direction when
Choose Elemental if staying at range fits the quest better. Choose Restoration for a regular healing assignment; occasional self-heals do not make this a full party-healer route.

Level 30 · 21 points · Talented 0/5

This level: Spirit Weapons 1/1

At 30, add parry and imbue-dependent threat control; Rockbiter reverses the damage-role reduction into increased threat.

Milestone links and the full point order work without scripts. Each link opens this route up to that level, without extra Legacy points.

Mistakes that change the outcome

  • No raid Bloodlust promise

Rage of the Farseer is a later personal cooldown, not a current raid-wide Bloodlust. Do not advertise the thirty-level build as supplying that event.

    Abilities, conditions & paragraph sources

The sequence is our recommendation. Linked client records support the mechanics and gates; they do not prove a measured optimal rotation.

    Talents Forever · shaman client exporttalents tree/name/rank and spell_desc class|spell|rank; local content/talents.json and content/spells.json, build 1.60.1.70291
  • A tanking imbue can pull threat unexpectedly

Leaving Rockbiter active with Spirit Weapons in a damage assignment can defeat your threat assumptions. Check the actual imbue after changing role.

Stat priorities at 30

Upgrade priorities for level-30 play, not simulated stat weights. First keep enough health and resources for your role; compare upgrades of similar level. Hit and critical chance depend on the target and your allocated talents; no universal cap is assumed.

  1. Weapon damage / DPS
  2. Intellect
  3. Strength
  4. Agility

Mental Dexterity makes Intellect an attack-power source when invested. Compare weapon damage plus Strength and Intellect. Count Mental Quickness only at your allocated rank; Maelstrom Weapon needs a later-level build.
