How to play at 30

Build a short Arcane Blast setup, then spend it before Mana or time runs out.

30 · Solo spell weaving

Arcane Blast selected; an enemy you can finish with room to cast.

  1. 1

    Open a small setup

Start with one Arcane Blast, then use Frostbolt for its slow or Fireball for a stationary follow-up. Do not start by assuming four stacks are efficient: every additional Blast raises the next Blast’s cost and the buff lasts only eight seconds.

    Abilities, conditions & paragraph sources

The sequence is our recommendation. Linked client records support the mechanics and gates; they do not prove a measured optimal rotation.

    Talents Forever · mage client exporttalents tree/name/rank and spell_desc class|spell|rank; local content/talents.json and content/spells.json, build 1.60.1.70291
  2. 2

    Cash in the proc safely

With Missile Barrage selected and its buff present, channel Arcane Missiles from a safe position. If the enemy is already in melee, make distance with Frost Nova or Blink first; a free channel still occupies time.

    Abilities, conditions & paragraph sources

The sequence is our recommendation. Linked client records support the mechanics and gates; they do not prove a measured optimal rotation.

  3. 3

    Reserve movement Mana

Keep enough Mana for Blink and the next control spell before adding a Blast stack. Finish a fleeing low-health target with Fire Blast only if it avoids another full cast without spending the reserve.

The sequence is our recommendation. Linked client records support the mechanics and gates; they do not prove a measured optimal rotation.

  4. 4

    Restore between enemies

Use Conjure Water between pulls and keep a Mana Agate. Evocation is an eight-second channel in this snapshot: choose a window away from respawns. Mana Shield can turn incoming damage into an expensive Mana loss.

The sequence is our recommendation. Linked client records support the mechanics and gates; they do not prove a measured optimal rotation.

30 · Burst windows & utility

Tank has threat and the next mechanic leaves a known casting window.

  1. 1

    Choose a window before stacks

Begin with a short Arcane Blast setup while the target will remain in range. Spend with another damaging spell before movement; rebuilding after every forced interruption can empty the Mana bar.

The sequence is our recommendation. Linked client records support the mechanics and gates; they do not prove a measured optimal rotation.

  2. 2

    Presence of Mind is conditional

The 21st-point Presence of Mind can make the next suitable spell instant. Use it for a planned immediate cast or movement recovery; it does not turn Evocation or every channeled spell into an instant.

  3. 3

    Interrupt and keep sheep intact

Reserve Counterspell for your assigned cast and refresh an assigned Polymorph. Improved Counterspell is an optional talent, not an automatic baseline silence. Remove Lesser Curse when the party assignment requires it.

  4. 4

    Use the quiet interval

Drink before the next pack. Use Evocation when no pickup, curse or movement duty is expected; being full of stacks is not a reason to ignore a lethal mechanic.

30 · Controlled area damage

Tank holds the pack; controlled enemies and patrols are outside the area.

  1. 1

    Select the actual area

Use Blizzard from range or Arcane Explosion only when close range is safe. A spell’s area must not include the Polymorph target. Arcane talents do not make every nearby pack safe to join.

  2. 2

    One setup, one spender

If using an Arcane Blast buff for an area spell, spend it while the tank’s pack is stable. Repeated expensive setups while moving waste the short buff; prioritize an available clear area window.

  3. 3

    Recovery is control first

Stop area damage when the pack turns. Frost Nova then move away from the healer, or Polymorph one loose valid target. Keep Blink Mana rather than spending the last resource on another Explosion.

The sequence is our recommendation. Linked client records support the mechanics and gates; they do not prove a measured optimal rotation.

Choose for the job in front of you

LEVEL BY LEVEL · ORDINARY POINT BUDGET

Your route from 10 to 60

Pick the route for your activity, then the level you need. Start at 30 for the last verified Beta stage. Later levels remain a separate plan.

Mana-aware single pulls

Current 10–30: one enemy at a time, with room for a short Arcane setup and a different finishing spell. Future 31–60: deepen Arcane, then add Frost escape tools.

When to use this route and what you give up
Use it when
Choose this when you want to manage Arcane Blast cost rather than repeat it indefinitely. Use ranks appropriate to your level and only spend an observed Missile Barrage proc. The order is an editorial resource/control route, not an official optimized build.
Trade-off
Presence of Mind at 30 displaces a first Arcane Mind rank. The final 31 Arcane / 20 Frost split gives up Arcane threat talents and Fire crit support for a cheaper Frost fallback and Ice Block. Arcane Power still raises Mana cost.
Change direction when
Choose Frost when reliable slows and roots are the main need. For a tanked dungeon damage assignment, compare an Arcane Subtlety allocation; this solo route has no Arcane threat reduction.

Upgrade priorities for level-30 play, not simulated stat weights. First keep enough health and resources for your role; compare upgrades of similar level. Hit and critical chance depend on the target and your allocated talents; no universal cap is assumed.

Arcane Blast changes your Mana demands. Favor a usable Mana reserve before chasing small spell-power gains; count Spirit regeneration during casting only according to your Arcane Meditation ranks.
