How to play at 30
Use a ranged opening, track Heating Up, and choose when a long cast is worth it.
30 · Solo single target
A clear opening cast; Pyroblast and Heating Up only if selected.
- 1

Choose a long or short opening
Against an unaware enemy with room, a talented Pyroblast can open before combat. Against an active threat, begin Fireball or a Frostbolt slow instead; standing still for a long Pyroblast is not a required opener.

Build heat from actual crits
Repeat Fireball at range. Heating Up requires Pyroblast and stacks from eligible non-periodic crits. Cast a shortened Pyroblast when the buff and remaining safe cast window justify it; do not assume an instant Hot Streak from another version.

Your route from 10 to 60
Pick the route for your activity, then the level you need. Start at 30 for the last verified Beta stage. Later levels remain a separate plan.
Ranged pulls and Fire reactions
Current 10–30: ranged single pulls, with Pyroblast only when the opening cast is safe. Future 31–60: Fire cooldowns first, then Frost hit and defensive support.
When to use this route and what you give up
- Use it when
- Use this when you can usually finish Fireball casts and want to track Heating Up rather than depend on a proc. Blast Wave at 30 is the close-range recovery choice. This order is editorial.
- Trade-off
- The first 21 points prioritize range, pushback protection and Blast Wave over Critical Mass or a full Scorch debuff. The final 35 Fire / 16 Frost split buys Ice Block at 60 and sacrifices Arcane Clearcasting. Frost Channeling discounts Frost spells only.
- Change direction when
- Choose Frost when the pull needs repeated reliable control. If you mostly damage long tanked targets, consider prioritizing Improved Scorch earlier and exchanging the close-range recovery point.
