How to play at 30

Build consistently with the weapon you own; Blade Flurry is a safe two-target window.

30 · Weapon-based single target

A usable main hand; Sinister Strike route or a dagger/behind-target route.

  1. 1

    Open for control or damage

Cheap Shot can create a safe beginning; then use Sinister Strike with the equipped weapon. Backstab needs a main-hand dagger and the target’s back, so it is not a default face-to-face solo builder.

    Abilities, conditions & paragraph sources

The sequence is our recommendation. Linked client records support the mechanics and gates; they do not prove a measured optimal rotation.

    Talents Forever · rogue client exporttalents tree/name/rank and spell_desc class|spell|rank; local content/talents.json and content/spells.json, build 1.60.1.70291
  2. 2

Use a finisher that can contribute

A short Slice and Dice can help a durable target; Eviscerate is immediate finishing damage. With Flawless Execution selected, its discount changes the Energy budget; it does not grant free repeated finishers.

  3. 3

    Riposte is reactive

Use Riposte only after a parry if talented. Keep Kick Energy for casters and use Evasion before heavy melee pressure; bandage or recover safely instead of extending a bad pull.

The sequence is our recommendation. Linked client records support the mechanics and gates; they do not prove a measured optimal rotation.

30 · Direct melee and utility

Tank holds threat; safe non-frontal melee space is available.

  1. 1

    Choose the legal builder

Use Sinister Strike for the ordinary weapon route, or Backstab with a dagger and stable rear position. Keep Slice and Dice only when enough fight time remains to use its attacks.

  2. 2

Kick before the final energy spend

Keep 25 Energy for the agreed spellcast. A last Eviscerate or Blade Flurry spend can delay Kick; stop builders early enough to regenerate for the deadline.

  3. 3

    Control and threat still matter

Sap the assigned out-of-combat Humanoid and keep it off copied attacks. Feint helps threat; Vanish needs Flash Powder and does not make an unsafe return to melee harmless.

30 · Blade Flurry

Two active enemies close together, controlled targets separated.

  1. 1

    Activate for two useful targets

Blade Flurry costs 25 Energy, increases attack speed and copies melee attacks to a nearby opponent for fifteen seconds. Open it while both live targets will stay in reach and the tank has threat.

  2. 2

    Stay on the priority target

Keep generating and spending on the priority target during the cleave window. If the second enemy is controlled or moves out, stop expecting copied damage and reconsider the remaining window.

  3. 3

    Protect the control lane

Do not stand beside the Sap or sheep target with Blade Flurry active. Kidney Shot on a dangerous susceptible add can be worth more than another damage finisher when the tank loses control.

    Abilities, conditions & paragraph sources

The sequence is our recommendation. Linked client records support the mechanics and gates; they do not prove a measured optimal rotation.

Choose for the job in front of you

  • Weapon talent versus immediate cleave

Hack and Slash and Blade Flurry both begin in row five. At ordinary level 30 the first point after twenty cannot buy both; choose reliable current weapon support or the encounter’s cleave button.

  • Do not evaluate a build by unavailable bursts

Adrenaline Rush is row seven, while Precision and Flawless Execution are earlier investments. Current Energy comfort must come from the talents actually selected and timing.

LEVEL BY LEVEL · ORDINARY POINT BUDGET

Your route from 10 to 60

Pick the route for your activity, then the level you need. Start at 30 for the last verified Beta stage. Later levels remain a separate plan.

Weapon questing and controlled cleave

Current 10–30: Sinister Strike single pulls, parry-triggered Riposte, then Blade Flurry for two active targets at 30. Future 31–60: weapon support and Adrenaline Rush, then crit/finisher economy.

When to use this route and what you give up
Use it when
Use this with the weapon you have trained and can keep upgraded, without requiring Backstab positioning. Blade Flurry needs a clear second target away from Sap or other control. The order is editorial, with solo defense chosen before maximum off-hand damage.
Trade-off
Early Deflection/Riposte and Endurance trade some immediate damage investment for solo recovery. The final 35 Combat / 16 Assassination split has no Puncturing Wounds or Improved Kick silence. Riposte is conditional when enemies are actually attacking you.
Change direction when
Choose Assassination for two-dagger poison/finisher play, or Subtlety when bypassing enemies and planning stealth/bleed setups matter more. For mostly tanked fights, reconsider solo parry/escape points.

Mistakes that change the outcome

  • Riposte is not always available behind a tank

When enemies hit the tank you may not parry. Keep it as situational utility rather than a guaranteed repeated attack.

Stat priorities at 30

Upgrade priorities for level-30 play, not simulated stat weights. First keep enough health and resources for your role; compare upgrades of similar level. Hit and critical chance depend on the target and your allocated talents; no universal cap is assumed.

  1. Weapon damage / DPS
  2. Agility
  3. Hit, after talents
  4. Attack power

Match your weapon choice to invested weapon talents. Compare main-hand damage and off-hand performance separately; Precision does not make every weapon equally suitable.

These effects apply only with the named talent and its required ranks. The excerpt shows rank 1; your own build may differ.

Hack and Slash ↗

Gives your melee weapon attacks a benefit depending on the weapon. Axe/Sword: Your successful melee attacks have a 1% chance to trigger an extra attack on the target. Dagger/Fist: Increases your critical strike chance by 1%. Mace: Your attacks ignore 3% of your target's armor.
