How to play at 30

Keep Battle Stance windows and Rage for reactions; use Sweeping Strikes for a real second target.

30 · Single-target weapon play

A weapon you can use reliably; Battle Stance and one enemy.

  1. 1

    Charge, Rend, then react

Charge when its out-of-combat range is valid, apply Rend if the target will survive its ticks, and keep auto-attacks running. Use Overpower after a dodge; Spearing Strike, if selected, needs Battle Stance and 15 Rage.

    Abilities, conditions & paragraph sources

The sequence is our recommendation. Linked client records support the mechanics and gates; they do not prove a measured optimal rotation.

    Talents Forever · warrior client exporttalents tree/name/rank and spell_desc class|spell|rank; local content/talents.json and content/spells.json, build 1.60.1.70291
  2. 2

    Avoid emptying the next swing

Use Heroic Strike as a surplus-Rage choice, not on every swing. Keep Rage for Overpower, a Hamstring escape or a shield-swap interrupt. At 20% health or below, Execute can finish but consumes extra Rage.

  3. 3

A kill creates a recovery chance

A non-trivial kill activates Victory Rush for a limited window. Use it on a safe next enemy when healing is useful, then recover between pulls. Do not chain into an extra pack merely to keep Rage.

30 · Melee damage & backup

Tank established threat; a shield is available for planned utility.

  1. 1

    Follow the kill target

Attack from a safe non-frontal position after tank pickup. Maintain Rend only when its duration can contribute; do not replace the tank’s pickup with an early Charge into the pack.

    Abilities, conditions & paragraph sources

The sequence is our recommendation. Linked client records support the mechanics and gates; they do not prove a measured optimal rotation.

  2. 2

    Bring the correct interrupt

At 30 Pummel is not learned; it begins at 38 in this snapshot. Use Shield Bash with a shield in Battle or Defensive Stance, keeping its 10 Rage cost available. Plan the weapon swap before the cast deadline.

  3. 3

Backup tanking has a gear cost

If asked to catch an add, use a shield, Defensive Stance and Taunt, then establish Sunder Armor threat. Shield Wall needs the shield and stance; warn the group before a damage setup becomes temporary tanking.

30 · Two-target cleave

Two tanked enemies, no controlled target in the strike area.

  1. 1

Spend Sweeping Strikes on two live targets

Sweeping Strikes costs 30 Rage and copies the next five melee attacks to a nearby second opponent. Activate while both will remain near you; on a lone boss it has no second target to copy to.

  2. 2

    Cleave only from surplus

Use Cleave when Rage still covers the next interrupt or defensive move. Thunder Clap can slow a pack’s attacks, but its use does not guarantee threat on every enemy.

  3. 3

    Stop cleaving before control breaks

Keep copied hits away from sheep or Sap targets. If an extra enemy joins, reduce concurrent pressure with an assigned control or tank pickup rather than pressing every area button.

Choose for the job in front of you

LEVEL BY LEVEL · ORDINARY POINT BUDGET

Your route from 10 to 60

Pick the route for your activity, then the level you need. Start at 30 for the last verified Beta stage. Later levels remain a separate plan.

Solo two-handed · Rend reactions and controlled cleave

Use a trained two-handed weapon, keep Battle Stance for reactive attacks, and engage a second enemy only when space and health allow it.

When to use this route and what you give up
Use it when
10–30 follows the last-announced Beta cap; 31–60 is a future projection. Choose for weapon-based questing with Rend and Overpower. Spearing Strike arrives at 25 and Sweeping Strikes at 30; Mortal Strike is projected at 40.
Trade-off
The level-30 point buys controlled cleave and postpones Bloodthrill to 31. Heroic Strike remains a surplus-Rage choice; this route does not remove the healing and gear cost of fighting two enemies.
Change direction when
For mostly single targets, take Bloodthrill at 30 and delay Sweeping Strikes, but restore its Mortal Strike prerequisite before 40. Fury fits a deliberate dual-wield role instead.

Level 30 · 21 points · Talented 0/5

This level: Sweeping Strikes 1/1

Mistakes that change the outcome

  • Mortal Strike is not a 30 button

Mortal Strike needs 31 Arms points and starts at 40. The present sequence uses Spearing Strike, reactive Overpower and weapon attacks instead.

    Abilities, conditions & paragraph sources

The sequence is our recommendation. Linked client records support the mechanics and gates; they do not prove a measured optimal rotation.

  • Fear can enlarge the pull

Intimidating Shout can send enemies into nearby packs. Use it only with a clear space and a recovery plan; Hamstring and retreat can be more predictable.
